1. What if I have little or no experience in emergency preparedness?

Everyone has to start somewhere!  The mission of this program is to increase resiliency within the business community and we use a peer to peer approach!  Regardless of your experience, or lack of, your business can be a valuable participant in this program and learn what is important when dealing with emergency preparedness.

3. Are there any costs associated with participation?

Participation in this program is free of charge.  Any training related costs are the responsibility of the participating organization(s) and should be coordinated between the two parties.

The program only requires businesses, both large and small,  to first agree to the terms and conditions prior to registration. Any agreements made thereafter will be left to the discretion of participants.

The Big Business - Small Business Emergency Management Mentorship Program allows you to create a business profile that will help pair you with the best possible match.

6. Can a mentor be matched with more than one business?

While this program is designed to promote a one-on-one approach to emergency preparedness, your organization is free to provide guidance to as many small businesses as your capabilities allow.  Some businesses might identify a particularly strong area (i.e. business continuity planning) within their own emergency preparedness program that they’d like to share with their entire supply chain.  We just ask that you identify your capabilities so as to ensure you are able to fulfill your obligations.

7. What if I represent a large business that would like to be matched with a mentor?

This program doesn’t restrict large businesses from participating as a protégé.  We understand that ALL businesses need to develop an emergency preparedness program and encourage participation from all levels.

8. What should I do if my business needs are not being met?

Please contact us with any questions or comments regarding the matching process.

9. Can I choose to stop participating at any time?

This is a voluntary program. Participants can end their participation at any time, with no strings attached. It is suggested however, that you give proper notice to both your mentor or protege as well as the program administrator (by emailing info@disasterB2bmentor.org) if you desire to end participation in the program.
